Manu Attri, Sumeet Pair out of USA Open 2015 In Semis

ORLANDO: The top Indian doubles pair, Manu Attri and B. Sumeet Reddy fought their way, but could not make it to the doubles finals in the progressing Yonex-USA Open 2015 tournament here in ClearOne Badminton Centre, Orlando, USA.

The top Indian pair was outsed by the Chinese Taipei players Chia Yu Lin and Hsiao-Lin Wu 16-21, 17-21 in 32 minutes.

The first game saw the Chinese Taipei player playing a better strategy than the Indian player and were always ahead of the Indian pair. The Indians managed to level the scores with the Chinese pair but, could not and lost the first game 16-21. The Indian pair managed to scores with the Chinese pair at 1-1 only and later could not catch up with the Chinese.

The second game was a better game than the first one, as the Indian duo fought neck to enck and kept the scores equalled with the Chinese pair till 9-9. From here, the Chinese pair again started to break lose as the Indians made some mistakes in therally, taht opened up the lead to the Chinese and surged ahead of the Indians and wrapped the second game 17-21.

Srikanth Has It Easy, Sails Into Semis Of The Indonesian Masters 2015

MALANG (INDONESIA): The Top seed in the tournament and the currently ranked World No.9 Srikanth booked his place in the semifinals in the progressing Indonesian Masters 2015 tournament here in Gedung Graha Cakrawala, Malang, Indonesia on Friday 4th December 2015.

Srikanth had it easy in the quarters, beating the 15th seed Teck Zhi Soo 21-10, 21-5 of Malaysia in 24 minutes in their first career meet.

It was a clear stage od domination where initially starting the game with a 6-0 advantage, and again to a 15-2 advantage to wrap up the first game against the Malaysian 21-10.

The second game was even better for Srikanth, as he again started the game with a 5-0 advantage, scoring points continuously and steadily helped him wrap up the second game and the match 21-5.

The World No.9 will take on Indonesia’s Ginting Anthony in the semifinals.

Antony has a career 1-0 advantage over Srikanth.

Sindhu Crashes In Quarters, Out Of The Yonex-Sunrise Indonesian Masters 2015

MALANG (INDONESIA): There was an upset waiting to happen for Sindhu, as she crashed out of the progressing Indonesian Masters 2015 tournament at the Gedung Graha Cakrawala here on Friday, 03 December 2015.

Sindhu, took easily the chinese, whom she she has never played before. But, the athletic chinese matched with Sindhu’s speed and more and ousted Sindhu in the Quarter Finals 21-23, 13-21 in a match that lasted for 36 minutes only.

Bing Jiao He was equally as powerful as Sindhu, as Sindhu found out difficult to read the opponents game, as she took the Chinese lightly,

The Chinese started the points tally with an 2-0 early lead. But, Sindhu went straight to a 4-2 lead after which the Chinese was in full command of the game until Sindhu managed to catch up with the Chinese and levelled the scores at 15-15. Of late Sindhu realized the game is going away from her hands put a vliant fight, but only to hand over the first to the Chinese 23-21 under pressure.

The second game too Saindhu little workout as the Chinese was a flyer in the next, as she raised to an lead of 15-5, a 10 point deficit. The Chinese was scoring points as at a regular pace and was at match point 20-7. One of the least scores Sindhu has ever taken, took 6 points in a row. But, the Chinese was in a clear position to send Sindhu ut of the tournament 21-13.

First is the basic question, what is endurance all about! Endurance or muscular endurance is the capability of the muscle to perform for longer hours with resistance without fatigue.

They are broadly classified depending upon intensity levels. They are Low Intensity Endurance and High Intensity Endurance.

The low intensity endurance activities invloves long distance running, cycling or swimming to improve the lung power to train the lungs to continuously supply oxygen to the muscles and the heart. This type of activities is sometimes practiced at higher altitudes where the amount of oxygen is less.

The Hight intensity endurance is that where the chemicals that we acquire from our food is made use for shorted period for more aggressive actions like jump smashes etc. This activity is done by doing “Interval training” exercises outdoors or by doing fast shadows with exposive actions with short time intervals.

Saina Nominated For The Women Player Of The Year Award By BWF

Saina-Nehwal (www.topnews.in)__1Saina Nehwal has been nominated for the Woman Player of the Year Award for the year 2015 by the BWF as Nehwal had a good run this year and also having gained the no.1 spot for a brief time.

Saina, a former World No. 1, who is currently ranked no.2 in the world, will be competing for this award with other top-ranked stars like Carolina Marin of Spain, 2014 winner Zhao Yunlei of China and Bao Yixin.
Saina’s consistent run includes reaching the finals of the BWF World Championships, the All England Open, and the Thaihot China Open. She also won the home leg of the World Superseries tour in Delhi.

The world number one Carolina Marin of Spain has had a perfect run, though, throughout the year. She won the All England Championship in March and the Hong Kong Open in November. She also clinched three World Superseries titles and also defended her World Championship title.

Zhao was the premier woman doubles player of the year, also winning six Mixed Doubles Superseries. She won eight Superseries titles in 2015, which includes two World Championships – in the Women’s Doubles and the Mixed Doubles category and the Japan and Hong Kong open titles in Women’s Doubles category.

Bao Yixin has been an all-round performer, winning the Mixed Doubles title at the All England Open and the India Open. She also reached the finals of the World Championships, the Australia Open and the Hong Kong Open.

The winners of the award will be announced at the Gala Dinner and the player’s reception at the Dubai World Superseries Finals on December 7 2015.

MALANG (INDONESIA): P.V. Sindhu once has has shown the supremacy in the absence of Saina, in the progressing Yonex- Sunrise Indonesian Masters 2015 tournament here in Malang, Indonesia.

Sindhu defeated Wulan Cahya Utami SUKOPUTRI of Indonesia 21-12, 21-9 to book her place in the last eight on Thursday.

In the first game, Sindhu was way ahead of the Indonesian, where  the indonesian managed ti leve lthe scores for one final time at 1-1. Sindhu wrapped up the first game 21-12 by consistently scoring points that made Utami hard to match up with Sindhu.

The second game, was even better for Sindhu. However, the Indonesian managed twice for a fightback with Sindhu at 1-1 and 2-2, after which the Indonesian could not find any clues to Sindhus return and handed over the second game and the match to Sindhu 21-9.

Sindhu will now face HE Bingjiao of China for a place in the last 4 (Semi Finals).

 

Srikanth In Quarters Of The 2015 Indonesian Masters Open

MALANG (Indonesia): Kidambi, after his horrible run this year, losing almost all the important matches in the first, second rounds has progressed to the Quarter finals in the progressing 2015 Indonesian Masters Open here on Thursday.

He defeated Indonesia’s Saputra VICKY ANGGA 21-14 17-21 25-23 in the second round. The match lasted for 1 hour and 05 minutes. He again beat China’s QIAO Bin 21-12, 21-15 and booked his berth in the Quarter Finals on Friday.

Srikanth saw the first game in his pocket by easily scoring against the Indonesian Vicky 21-14, when srikanth was slightly disturbed by the Indonesian from 6-6 to 10-10.

The second game saw Srikant not adjusting to the flight, rendering errors at crucial points, eventually handed over the second game to the indonesian for a decider.

The third game was a thriller. The Indonesian went to the lead, when Srikanth finally caught up with the scores of Vicky at 13-13. From here, the two went neck to neck from 9-19 to 23-23. Srikanth had several chances to outwit the Indonesian but, missed in a couple of occasions and had to fight back and win the decider 25-23.

Srikanth will now face Teck Zhi SOO [15] of Malaysia in the quarter Finals on Friday.

Sindhu Outwits Mariska scare

MALANG (Indonesia): Sindhu is in top form after winning the Macau Open 2015 last week but, slightly struggled over her opponent in the first round of the 2015 Yonex-Sunrise Indonesian Masters tournament, here in Malang. But, later won the match 21-16, 19-21, 21-12 against the Indonesian Gregoria MARISKA.

Sindhu, seede no. 1 here in the tournament was flourishing with points but was disturbed by her opponent from 8-8 till 15-15, after which Sindhu again started gaining points and completed the first game 21-16.

In the second game also, Sindhu was moving ahead of her opponent well, but the match went from neck to neck from 16-16 to 19-19. Sindhu wanted to wrap up the game, but hit the bird in the net twice favouring the game to the Indonesian.

The decider was also an one sided affair for Sindhu, as her opponent managed to catch up with her in the beginning of the game at 1-1, after which Sindhu too ka giant lead and wrapped up the game ans the match 21-12.

The two-time bronze medallist at World Championships, Sindhu next takes on Indonesia’s Wulan Cahya Utami Sukoputri at Gedung Graha Cakrawala on Thursday.

Four Indians Reach Second Round Of Indonesia Masters

MALANG (Indonesia): All the Indian shuttlers had a good day at Indonesia Masters as all four of them, Sindhu, H.S. Prannoy, R.M.V and K Srikanth reached the second round of the 2015 Yonex-Sunrise Indonesian Masters Grand Prix Gold tournament on Wednesday.

Sindhu won over her opponent Gregoria MARISKA from Indonesia in the first round 21-16, 19-21, 21-12. While, the other three men’s contendors also found their way to the second round quiet comfortably.

Could Have Won More Titles, If Not For Injuries: Saina Nehwal

Saina-Nehwal (www.topnews.in)__1NEW DELHI: “I was well set to win more tournaments but injuries didn’t leave me the whole year. When you are fit and fine then progress comes automatically,” Saina told PTI.

“Out of three important finals (All England, World Championship and China Open), I was the only runners up in three tournaments where as the winner in two (All England and World Championship) was Carolina and in third (China Open) the winner was Li Xuerui.”

“Being world number one is the most satisfying while being runners up in three events in a year is not very encouraging to my personal career,” she said.

“This year is also one of the best but more was to be done by me. I wish I would have been free of injuries. It is an important component of badminton. Almost all the girls in international badminton were doing well in the tournaments.”

The 25-year-old had shifted base from Hyderabad to Bangalore early in the year to train under Vimal Kumar and credited him for her success.

“I had excellent training sessions at PPBA at Bangalore during 2015 under Vimal Sir. Physical fitness, personal skill and the best training contributes a lot to the outcome of a player,” she said.
“I enjoyed the training at Bangalore and achieved the best in my pursuit. Coach Vimal Kumar played a pivotal role in scaling the performance of my game.”

Asked how difficult it is to outwit the competitors consistently, Saina said: “It is the nature of sports that every time some new faces are striving hard to gain momentum in the game, it shows badminton progress is on high speed.

Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal, feels the year 2015 is one of the best of her career but also ruled, a series of injuries has also affected her chances of winning more titles.

Saina had reached the finals of BWF Super Series Final in 2011, she made thrice to the semifinals of the BWF Super Series Finals.

She will once again compete against the top 8 shuttlers in the world, including China’s Li Xuerui, Wang Yiang, Wang Shixiang and the current world no.1 Caroline Marin, at Dubai Super Series Masters Finals starting on December 9.
