P.V.Sindhu came up with a fantastic display of badminton when she defeated Hera Desi of Indonesia 21-17, 21-17 in just 36 minutes to move into the last four of Yonex Sunrise Malaysia Grand Prix Gold 2013.
The Badminton World Federation has assigned the Thomas and Uber cup finals for 2014 to be held in New Delhi, India. These finals will be held from 18th to 25th of May, 2014.
This is the first time that the finals of these prestigious events in Badminton, the Thomas and Uber cups, are hosted in India.

From the 2014 edition, there will be 16 teams competing instead of the 12 team format used currently.
BWF deputy president Paisan Rangsikitpho said: “India are no strangers to hosting world-class badminton events having hosted the World Championships in 2009, the World Junior Championships in 2008 and the Commonwealth Games in 2010. This is also the third year India are hosting a leg of the BWF World Super Series. Badminton is also developing at a rapid pace in India with many players making their mark on the international stage and we are happy to award the hosting rights to India.”
Yonex Sunrise India Open 2013 comes to an end and here are the winners. There was no significant Chinese domination this time as we had players from Malaysia, Thailand, China, Japan and Indonesia winning one category each.
