Indian Badminton Players National Rankings for Junior Under-19 as of 5th of August 2013

We are starting a new series here to track the rankings and the progress of Indian Badminton players at the national level. This series will be published in parallel with the Indian Badminton Players World Ranking that is published weekly.

Here is a quick look at the rankings within Top 50 players in badminton national rankings

  • Junior Boys’ U19 Singles: Andhra Pradesh has the most number of Junior Boys’ U19 Singles ranking players in top 50 with 19 players from AP.Maharashtra is a close second with 9 players ranked within top 50 in Junior Boys’ U19 Singles.
  • Junior Boys’ U19 Doubles: Andhra Pradesh has the most number of Junior Boys’ U19 Doubles ranking players in top 50 with 18 players from AP. Maharashtra is a close second with 13 players ranked within top 50 in Junior Boys’ U19 Doubles.
  • Junior Girls’ U19 Singles: Andhra Pradesh leads the pack way ahead with 21 players in top 50 in Junior Girls’ U19 Singles. Maharashtra is at a distant second place with 12 players in top 50 in this category
  • Junior Girls’ U19 Doubles: Andhra Pradesh has the most number of Junior Girls’ U19 Doubles players also, with 29 players in the top 50 in this category.Kerala and Maharashtra are having 14 players each in the Junior Girls’ U19 Doubles in the top 50.
  • Mixed Doubles: Andhra Pradesh leads the pack again with 27 players in top 50. Uttar Pradesh share the second place with 17 players each in the Mixed Doubles category within top 50.

The star of this week is the Andhra Pradesh team for producing the maximum number of players within top 50 rankings in India in all the categories.

Shyam Prasad and Shlokh Ramchandran continue to retain their top rankings in Junior Boys’ U19 Doubles at the National level.

  • 2: Sanyam Shukla remains unchanged on 2nd position.Santhosh Ravuri and Chaitanya Reddy K. has moved up two position and is now in second position.
  • 3: Hemanagendra Babu T remains unchanged on 3rd position
  • 4: Gangadhara Rao V. has moved up one position from 5th to 4th position
  • 5: Kawaldeep Singh and Rupinder Singh are on 5th position

Junior Girls’ U19 Doubles:

Poorvisha S. R. continue to retain their top rankings in Junior Girls’ U19 Doubles at the National level.

  • 2: Meghana J.remains unchanged 2nd position this time.
  • 3:Ruthvika Shivani G. remains unchanged 3rd position this time.
  • 4: Maneesha K. remains unchanged 4th position this time.
  • 5: Pooja M. remains unchanged 5th position this time.

Mixed Doubles:

Meghana J. is the top ranking players in Mixed Doubles in India. They continue to retain their top position.

  • 3: Vinay Kumar Singh has moved up one position from 4th to 3rd position.
