The 34th All India Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSBB) tournament is held at Bangalore this week (26th December to 30th December, 2012).
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is the host of this event and the matches will be held at the Karnataka Badminton Association courts. Many teams are participating from ONGC, IOC, HPCL, MRPL, OIL, EIL, GAIL, etc.
While Saina Nehwal, Parupalli Kashyap and P.V. Sindhu will not be playing in this tournament, many other top badminton players from the country will be participating. Some of them are Chetan Anand, V Diju, Ashwini Ponnappa, Sourabh Verma, Aditya Prakash, Aravind Bhat and Anup Sridhar.
Siddharth Jain, former French Open Badminton Men Singles winner, from ONGC, leads the organizing committee for this event this year.

Parupalli Kashyap has won the Men’s Singles event in the India Grand Prix 2012 Badminton Tournament.
In a hard fought three setter, second seeded Kashyap overcame Thailand’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk 21-19 14-21 21-17.
Kashyap was trailing 13-17 in the first set, but caught up and raced to win 21-19. After winning the close first set, Kashyap lost focus and gave up the second game 14-21 to the 14th seeded Thai player. In this game Tanongsak made sure he led from the beginning to the end of the game.Â In the final game, after the scores were even at 6 each, Kashyap switched gears and made sure he kept the lead from then on and went on to win the game and the match.
